Ocean Hole is what's known as a "Blue Hole." A blue hole is a unique geological formation found in the ocean. These large marine sinkholes are open to the surface and are typically found in areas with carbonate bedrock, limestone, or coral reefs. The Ocean Hole in Rock Sound, Eleuthera is one such example. These formations were only discovered in the late 20th century by fishermen and divers. The water found in blue holes can be influenced by tides and can have a variety of chemical compositions, including fresh, marine, or mixed water.
