A few historical facts: The old Cotton Bay Club Resort is closed and the golf course is closed to the public, however the homes that occupy the surrounding area are still in use by their various owners. The old Cotton Bay Club was originally developed by the founder of PanAm Airlines, Juan Trippe, in 1959. Cotton Bay in its heyday was one of the most popular resorts on Eleuthera and frequented by the wealthy. The nearest resort to Cotton Bay currently is Powell Point Marina / Cape Eleuthera Resort and Condo Hotel which located on the southeast tip of Eleuthera.
